labor psa: a scab is somebody who does struck work. a scab may be a union member or not—usually not, in many industries. if you are doing work that would ordinarily be done by a person on strike, you are a scab, even if you yourself are not part of a union whose members are striking

for example, an influencer who starts doing promo work for struck companies that would ordinarily be done by actors: that is a scab

regular person going to see a movie: not a scab

annoyed addition: customer going to coffee shop whose baristas are on strike to get a coffee made by a scab: not scabbing, but crossing the picket line

durnesque-esque

just to double clarify: going to see a movie during the strike is not crossing the picket line because the movies were made before the strike and the work was done under union contracts.

whereas audience members of going to watch scab Bill Maher's talk show, are crossing the picket line.

New woman I respect more than anything just dropped: Artemisia Gentileschi is my favorite painter at the time. She’s been painting since the age of 15 and worked in the same style as Caravaggio. She was the first woman to enter Academia di Arte del Disegno and her paintings now are incredibly popular. You might know her by Judith Slaying Holofernes (1614-20). She’s one of the most successful painters of the 17th century.

Shes also a SA survivor and the themes of allegories, myths, biblical and other victims and warriors are very prominent in her art. Check her out.

Her self-portrait is adorable. Also she did just paint herself as the allegory of painting here and I think every artist should have this confidence.
